Metropolis Alterations is a full-service alteration, tailoring and eco-friendly dry cleaning company located inside Metropolis at Metrotown Mall. Our team is looking for a confident and experienced tailor to join our team!

 

Job Description

• Performing professional garment alteration/design, tailoring, and repair duties by applying principles of garment design, construction, and styling.

 

Qualifications

• Must have minimum 5 years professional sewing experience

• Solid understanding and experience with garment construction, production and repair processes.

• Experience designing and sewing custom garments

• Professional experience with formal-wear (including bridal and suits) alterations

• Strong knowledge of textiles, fabrics and various types of sewing machines and tools

• Detail-oriented, organized, responsible, dependable and trust-worthy

• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills

• Effective written and verbal communications in English

 

Job Type

• Part-time with flexible schedule. 2-4 days per week (available minimum 1 weekend day).

Part-Time Administrator/Tailor Shop Manager

Job Description

• Performing store opening/closing duties

• Communicating with clients in-person and over telephone

• Completing measurements and fittings for clients during drop-off and pick-up

• Handling orders, transactions and invoicing

• Greeting and welcoming each client in a friendly, warm and professional manner

• Address and respond to emails

• Filing and organizing documents

• Helping to keep the studio and entrance clean and organized

Qualifications:

• Fluency in English: excellent oral and written communications required

• Seasoned customer service skill set, handling queries and complaints with the utmost professionalism and appropriate dialogue.

• Team player and enthusiastic

• A passion for textiles and fashion!

• Experience with major social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Google+ an asset.

 

Job Type:

• Part-time. 15-20 hrs/week. Dates are flexible and open to discussion.

 

Experience:

• Minimum 1-year of relevant experience

• Alteration and tailoring experience preferred

• Experience in fashion or alterations industry an asset
